Abstract

This study was designed to observe the differential effect of ¥á-linolenic acid (¥á-LL) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)+docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) on plasma lipid composition and thromboxane B2(TXB2) level in platelet. Twelve college women were
divided
into 2 groups and fed the experimental oil (13.5g) with their own homemade food for 10 weeks. Perilla oil was used as a source of n3 ¥á-linolenic acid and fish oil concentrate as a source of n3 EPA+DHA. The changes of plasma lipid composition and
platelet TXB, levels were observed at 0-, 2-, 10- and 12-week of the experimental periods.
